What Should I Bring? Essential Tips for Your Romantic Getaway

It never hurts to be prepared especially if you're about to whisk yourself away on a luxury mountain getaway! At Meraki Escape, we pride ourselves on taking away your worries and stress and providing an unforgettable stay. However, just like any vacation, there's some important items we don't provide that you'll want to consider.


Here are some tips on what to pack and other important things to keep in mind before your stay!

Driving Directions

We love how remote and secluded our property is and it's one of the elements our guests rave about most often! Before heading out, it’s a good idea to print or download the driving directions. This is in case you lose cellular or GPS during your journey through the mountains. 

 

Check-In Instructions

Please read and print or download your check-in instructions so that everything goes smoothly when you arrive for your Escape. 

 

Groceries

Stock up before you arrive so that you can sit back and relax!

  • Don’t forget to bring your condiments and food for the Weber BBQ grille!
  • If you prefer drip coffee bring your own coffee beans or grounds (we provide a coffee grinder and reusable filter).
  • Bring your own plastic wrap or foil, leftover containers, specialty spices, and beverages. 


Grocery Shop & Stock

Let us take the hassle out of grocery shopping and lugging a cooler for your getaway! Native Roots Concierge can shop for you at various places in the area, or pick up your online order and deliver it to your cabin and even stock the fridge for you! Shopping: $35 per hour plus the cost of groceries. Pick Up & Delivery: $50 flat fee. Call 828-318-5010 for scheduling BEFORE placing your online order to confirm availability. They pick up at Ingles in Cashiers

 

Gasoline

Gas Stations close to us close early so if you’re running low, we recommend you stop in town and fill up. Citgo (10932 Rosman Hwy, Lake Toxaway, NC, 28747) is 4.3 miles from Meraki Escape.


Here are some other items you might need while your here:


  • Specialty Kitchen Gadgets: Please bring any specialty kitchen items that you might need. If you’re not sure if we provide it in the cabin please Contact Us. 
  • Sunscreen and Bug Spray: For yourselves.
  • Personal Travel First Aid Kit and Medications: Accidents and boo-boo’s happen! Prescription Medications, Band-aids, eye drops, tweezers, creams, pain relievers, and whatever else you need to stay healthy.
  • Personal Toiletries: Toothpaste, deodorant, moisturizer, etc. 
  •  Clothes:  Don’t forget a sweater or jacket for the cool nights! 
  •  Pet Bed, Food, and Chew Toys: We provide a dog crate but no bed. Please don’t forget your pooch’s food and chew toys. See our Pet Policy page for crate size. 
  • Adventure Gear:  Water bottles, maps, compass, rain jacket, hiking shoes, hat, sunglasses, fishing rod, bike helmet, backpack, etc.

At Meraki Escape, we care deeply about your pets and want you both to have a safe, enjoyable experience. You are required to use flea and tick protection during your stay. Our cabins are designed to welcome dogs while maintaining high cleanliness standards, and this protection helps ensure both your pet's safety and the cleanliness of our cabins. Since we can't control what your dog might encounter while exploring, using flea and tick protection helps prevent any pests from coming back with you. Nature here may have more insects than your dog is used to, so please protect your pets!

  • Fill up your gas tank before leaving the city, as gas stations are scarce in remote areas.
